National campaign on solid and liquid waste management started at Addis Ababa on Dec. 5/2017. The campaign is practically started by Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn and Mayor Driba Kuma around the area called AWARE. Following the increasing release and its harm on the society, a National cleaning campaigned is championed by Addis Ababa city which will be expected to be scaled up throughout the nation. Our constitution declared that every citizens has a right to live in a clean and healthy environment (Art. 41). However, liquid and solid waste management is worsening from time to time which in its effect has a harmful effect on people. The campaign is inaugurated under the banner “—” and aimed at making the issue a continuing poplar agenda to be continued ahead.
Speaking at the Launching event, Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn said that “—-“and Mayor Driba Kuma”—“. The activity is led and facilitated by a string National committee comprised from three ministries namely ministry of Environment, Forest and climate change; ministry of Health and Addis Ababa city Administration.
